- Abstract
The article discusses a study which examined the capability of one-step TaqMan real-time reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (real-time RT-PCR) assays targeting the nucleoprotein, matrix and hemagglutinin genes of H3N8 Equine influenza virus in detecting Canine influenza virus (CIV). It also evaluated assays using tissue culture fluid (TCF) or allantoic fluid samples containing CIV. Results showed that none of the assays detected the H1N1 Swine influenza virus strain in current circulation.
