- Abstract
The article focuses on a study which reviewed the literature on how implant surface characteristics influence peri-implant disease. Results of the study showed that peri-implantitis has little effect on smooth surfaces compared to rough surface implants. The study also found that the progression of peri-implantitis was more pronounced at implants with a porous anodized surface.
