What should corporate treasurers do differently as a result of the recent market turmoil?
- Abstract
The article presents suggestions by experts on the steps that should be taken by corporate treasurers, in the wake of the economic turmoil. John Herrick, Principal, Treasury Strategies states that it was only after the Great Depression of 1929, that treasurers have had to face so many challenges together. He considers that the main concern for treasurers should be to ensure that the firm's cash is safe. Richard Bottomley, head of Pan-European liquidity sales in HSBC Holdings PLC, advices techniques like improved cash concentration capabilities, multi-currency structures and interest optimization solutions.
