Smelting of Tibet's Yulong copper begun Oct 17.
Abstract
The article reports on the launch of a trial production by Western Mining Co. at its Yulong copper mine in China on October 17, 2008. According to the article, the plant is expected to produce at most 2,000 tonnes of refined copper by the end of 2008 if the trial is successful. It is stated that Yulong has proven reserves of over 6.5 million tonnes of copper in ore and prospective reserves of 10 million tonnes. Moreover, Western Mining has 58% stake in the mine.
