- Abstract
The article discusses bankruptcy priority rules, with focus given to the impact of bankruptcy rent-seeking on creditor bargains and priority jumping. The author begins by explaining the basic principles of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code, and goes on to address such topics as leveraged buyout (LBO) lenders' fraudulent transfer risk, lobbying for rent-seeking in the U.S. Congress, and debtor-in-possession (DIP) loans.
