- Abstract
The article focuses on the challenges of increasing the availability of scholarly information in African libraries and other learning and research institutions. The authors discuss ITHAKA, a non-profit organisation helping the academic community take advantage of advancing information and networking technologies, and their JSTOR program Africa Access Initiative (AAI). They explain that JSTOR has collaborated with African partner institutions and has set up training programs and workshops to help improve participants' information literacy.
