- Abstract
The article describes a translanguaging space designed for bilingual children and their families to explore the linguistic and cultural practices they engage in at home within the context of a bilingual education program and using a social studies inquiry approach in kindergarten. It provides an overview of the kindergarten curriculum and outlines the steps for exploring language through family interviews, exploring language use by family members and exploring language through a family quilt.
