- Abstract
The article describes the application and benefits of some of the more recent modalities on the health care system in the U.S. It notes that optimal wound care requires understanding the evidence on its emerging therapies. It states that advance therapies include bioengineered skin products, hyperbaric oxygen therapy and negative pressure therapy. Moreover, it mentions that wound-care centers are typically composed of a surgeon, emergency medicine and nurses who are certified in wound and ostomy.
