- Abstract
The article discusses the study which attempts to clarify the discrepancy in serial retention patterns in Kentucky public libraries in 1994 and 2006 by Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives (KDLA). The discrepancy was obtained by completing a quantified assessment of the degree to which public libraries have changed both the number of serial titles and cumulative number of volumes held in the collections. The study showed that the public libraries' management of their serials collections was accurate in regard to libraries with reduced inventory of back issues of serials, but was inaccurate in terms to libraries having reduced the number of serial titles for which they have at least marginal holdings.
