- Abstract
A biography for Dutch American clergyman and political activist A. J. Muste is presented. Muste was born on January 8, 1885 in Zeeland, the Netherlands, however his family emigrated to the U.S. due to the lack of economic opportunities in their homeland. Muste studied at Hope College in Holland, Michigan and attended the Theological Seminary of the Dutch Reformed Church. Also discussed are Muste's work in the labor, pacifist , anti-war, and Civil Rights movements.
