- Title
A Review of Neuroendoscopy and Potential Applications in Veterinary Medicine.
- Authors
Higginbotham, Michael; Levesque, Donald
- Abstract
The article discusses the history of neuroendoscopy, the technology and equipment used, and the possible translation of techniques used in human medicine to veterinary medicine. Its initial use was mainly limited to the biopsy of tumors and hydrocephalus treatment due to inadequate technology and the high skill level required. Improvements in fiber optics, optical glass lenses and electrical circuitry led to the development of better equipment. Among the human diseases in which neuroendoscopy is used are neoplasia and intracranial cysts.
