- Abstract
For the purpose of new development of silk to clothes for men and women, the effect of the twisting on the raw silk yarn was investigated on the dyeing and the light reflection using Ariake cocoon. The twisting numbers tested were 0, 500, 1,000, 1,500 and 2,000T/m. 1. A little effect on the dyeing with acid dyes was examined on the yarn and the fabrics of different numbers of twisting. 2. The intensity of reflected light (luster) of silk yarn and fabrics decreased with increasing of number of twisting. Therefore, the twist multiplication on raw silk yarn is a suitable method for the purpose of control of luster according to the usage such as the men clothes. 3. A little influence of the twist multiplication on the surface color was examined as a change in the chromaticity in L*a*b * color space.
