- Abstract
The article focuses on Ilumina's Individual Genome Sequencing (IGS) Service. Ilumina Chief Executive Officer Jay Flatley reveals information pertaining to his genome with emphasis on the dozens of false positive variants with regard to the Human Genome Mutation Database. The need to improve the state of the mutation repositories is presented including its many dimensions. It notes on the first 14 genomes sequenced by its IGS which include film actress Glenn Close. Flatley mentions favoring greater regulation given the three categories of markers.
