- Abstract
The article discusses the plan of Brazilian government to develop hydroelectric projects in the Amazon bay to meet their growing energy needs. The conservation group World Wildlife Fund (WWF) claims that the projects from Amazon dam like the Belo Monte dam will boost electrical power of Brazil and will offer them with carbon-free electricity. It says that the project also presents serious investment risks as it will involve several road constructions, deforestation, and methane emissions.
