Total coherence score and the comprehensibility subscale scores were found to be higher in males than females (p<0.05). Subscale scores of manageability were found to be lower in those who used hot-cold applications in coping with pain. The statistically significant differences with the scores of the sense of coherence in the elderly are male gender which are from sociodemographic characteristics and the way pain is expressed (p<0.05).
