- Abstract
The article presents a study on the morphological and hydrological analysis of the vast wetland of the Sudd region or Bahr el Jebel in southern Sudan. It states that field survey and remote sensing data were used to evaluate the effect of ground slopes and morphological features on spill and flooding of timely flooded grasslands. It notes that with the aid of bathymetric surveys and Landsat images analysis, depth profiles and flow distributions were established. It also mentions that the data from field surveys were correlated. It also states that the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) is inapplicable for further assessments. Furthermore, it notes that the remote sensing data analysis was used to analyze Sudd's inland delta and spill into Bahr el Ghazal basin.
