The article examines the narrative patterns found in the "commissioned communications: of the Biblical Old Testament. Topics addressed include the structure and concept of the oracles of the Bible as commissioned events, the features of commissioning scene patterns, and the significance of identifying and comparing the eight narrative patterns used throughout the Old Testament.
