- Abstract
Motion graphics as a hybrid field between graphic design and animation is one of the most modern and interesting professions on global market. It runs at the intersection of marketing, applied art, video design and 3d modeling while still holding its roots in animation. This text which will hopefully be part of a series of texts on motion design will serve as a primer or launchpad for any aficionado delving into "mograph" as the professionals would love to say. In this text, the major focus will be on the technical methods which are often employed to prototype a composition's structure in motion design. Prior to this main part, a shorter introduction will contextualize motion graphics and how its roots are tied with computer graphics and the digital world. Following this, there will be an extensive list based on the most common practices and techniques used by professionals to elevate their work in industry software. Professional terminologies will be employed, it is therefore aimed more specifically for people with a certain amount of experience within the field, however most elaborate ideas will be broken down in simple or easy to understand terms. This will finalize this practical part which in sum is the heart of this text, as it aims to educate but also practically enlighten younger artists and learners so as to give them a way to ascend their skills to the next level.
