- Abstract
An analysis of stories told by nurse teachers to learning disability nursing students uncovers insights into how their understanding of their field of practice is socially constructed. Some of the stories indicated that the way learning disability is constructed/ interpreted, including the use of medicalised language, could be an attempt to justify the control of individuals by health professionals and others.
