The article focuses on the ambiguity surrounding the of violations of right to counsel made by the laws enforcement officials in the U.S. Topics include Miranda v. Arizona and Edwards v. Arizona court cases addressing defendants Fifth Amendment right to counsel in the case of police custodial interrogation; and Maryland v. Shatzer court case in which the court held that police may re-open questioning of a suspect who has asked for counsel if there has been a 14-day or more break.
