- Abstract
This study examined the professional competencies of classroom teachers and the level of digital material design skills. In addition, the study investigated the effect of digital material design skills on classroom teachers' perception of professional competence. The research was carried out with 363 classroom teachers working in a province of the Marmara region in the 2022-2023 academic year. The study was conducted using the relational screening model. Personal information form, teachers' professional efficacy perception, and digital material design proficiency scales were used as data collection tools. Descriptive and multiple linear regression analyses were performed to analyze the data, and Pearson correlation coefficients were calculated. The results showed that classroom teachers' digital material design skills and professional competence perceptions were at a high level. Classroom teachers' digital material design skills had positive relationships with their professional competence perceptions. The study determined that classroom teachers' instructional technology and material design skills could potentially increase their professional competencies. Developing these skills by teachers can contribute to a more effective learning experience for students and improve teaching processes.
