- Title
Skin self-examination for concerning pigmented lesions appears to be consistent with dermatologist examination.
- Authors
Barton, Mary Kay
- Abstract
The author discusses a study on skin self-examination of melanoma survivors using an evidence-based program. She mentions the study's result which she finds interesting on the percentage of patients who requested for an immediate physician visit due to pigmented lesions (PL). She commends the study for showing a good degree of correspondence between patient and dermatologist identification of concerning PL. The limitations of the study are also given, such as short follow-up of patients.
