- Abstract
The article discusses the views of Czech philosopher and politician Tomáš G. Masaryk regarding European unification and internationalism. It is said that he predicted the creation of an entity to be called the United States of Europe while he was president of Czechoslovakia. Other topics include Masaryk's opposition to Leninism as a false form of Marxism, his opposition to Nazism, and his support for democracy as an alternative to totalitarian or authoritarian government. Masaryk's globalist or trans-nationalist views were criticized by scholar Arne Novák.
