- Abstract
Since 1968 Spain turned into the majority partner of the International distributor Cinespaña. Th is was due to (i) the need to balance the outcome of foreign currencies by acquiring foreign movies and (ii) the wish to show Spanish culture. However, the average quality of the movies, hindrance to enter a foreign the company's demise country and the problems to bring back the yield to Spain held up the company's development until closing in 1985. Despite its losses, Cinespaña managed to double the number of foreign countries that bought Spanish movies, as well as its sales.
