- Abstract
The prevalence of concomitant BA in AR patients under 15 years, living in rural regions, exposing to smoking, no AR family history, or no BA family history is significantly increased in 2017-2018. Patients with AR having varied family histories and staying in different environments show distinct trends in the prevalence of BA. Allergic rhinitis (AR) and bronchial asthma (BA) are both immunoglobin E (IgE)-mediated diseases triggered by similar allergens; hence, they can be considered a "united airway" rather than two distinct diseases.
