- Abstract
This paper reports the design and implementation of a teaching sequence for high school students, to study the concept of function by modeling the movement of a ball using a mobile device (iPad). The goal is connect the physical experience of motion variables of the phenomenon, and to give meaning to the graph indicating position. A preliminary analysis that included an epistemological, didactic and cognitive study, was conducted. Based on these results, four activities were designed, which contemplate: prepare the recording scene, recording the movement of a ball, to analyze the movement through Ipad´s tools, obtain the graph, analyze the functional representations (through the Logger Pro software), coordinate information of the representations, and finally, to model new moves. These activities help to develop a concept of function, where the variation is highlighted, and is promoted the transfer of information from a context of representation to another.
