- Abstract
An essay is presented which argues on homoerotic primitivism on cross-cultural discourses of Englishmen who were inspired by their mateship with white Australian men. It discusses several literary examples which depict modernism and homoerotic primitivism such as "The Plumed Serpent" by D. H. Lawrence, "The Desert Horizon" by Grant Watson, and "Fly Away Peter" by David Malouf.
