- Title
PEEK polymer resists chemicals in plating machine.
- Abstract
This article reports that glass-fiber filled PPS has reportedly been replaced by Victrex PEEK polymer in the holder components of chemical plating machines at AEM-Evertech of Singapore, according to Greenville, South Carolina-based Victrex USA Inc. The holders carry semiconductor lead frames or connectors within precisely controlled plating environments. The PEEK polymer provides strong resistance to high temperatures and chemicals, along with stable electrical properties. According to John Getz of Victrex, the new PEEK components are providing improved quality, higher efficiency, and longer life, and at a lower cost than the PPS parts.
