- Authors
Seager, Nicholas
- Abstract
A literary criticism of the book "Memoirs of a Cavalier" by Daniel Defoe is presented. It explores its relationship to the popularity of the English novel and examines its historicity as a fictional autobiography. It is discussed in relation to other works on the English Civil War and it is suggested that "Memoirs of a Cavalier" is a statement on the relationship between the King and parliament.
