- Title
Changing Times at the Boy's Club: Theorizing Masculinity in Cultural Studies.
- Authors
Hoechsmann, Michael
- Abstract
The article focuses on issues related to theorizing masculinity in cultural studies. It is widely recognized that a cornerstone of the neo-conservative agenda in Canada, the U.S. and Great Britain has been to roll back the gains of the sexual revolution(s). The emergence of pro-family rhetoric scapegoats women for deserting the household, and gays and lesbians for upsetting the applecart of bourgeois morality. In the face of these attacks, contemporary theorists continue to push the boundaries of gender analysis, searching for new and greater understandings of the interplay of power and gender.
