- Abstract
The article discusses the need to monitor the strains of swine influenza virus in the European Union (EU). It refers to the recommendation made by the Animal Health and Welfare Panel of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) on the possible risks from the H3N2v influenza virus. These organizations have assessed the potential of the influenza virus being introduced to pigs in the EU.
