- Abstract
The article presents a medical research in the U.S. on a modified directly observed therapy (MDOT) in HIV patients. The purpose of the study is to reports on the long-term impact of MDOT on adherence as well as clinical markers among individuals who participated in an MDOT program. The study includes 15 patients who participated an MDOT program for at least 6 months between May 2002 and October 2005. It is found out that clinical markers supported self-reported adherence, because the majority of participants had increased CD4 levels and had maintained an undetectable plasma viral loads.
