- Abstract
The article examines U.S. state laws regulating life, long-term care and disability insurers' use of genetic information. Topics discussed include restrictions in the use of genetic information in life, disability and long-term care insurances, prohibitions on the use of particular genetic tests, lack of consistency when implementing protections of genetic information, and state approaches to provide greater uniformity of protection such as privacy, anti-discrimination and informed consent.
