- Abstract
The authors provide a detailed description regarding their prediction and discovery of telomerase, a remarkable RNA-containing enzyme that synthesizes the ends of chromosomes. The article also provide a detailed account of the RNA's structure, sequence, function and clinical implications. An account of the discovery of telomerase in Tetrahymena and yeast, and its role in cancer is also provided.
