- Abstract
The article describes the case of an 89-year-old woman with acute angle-closure glaucoma. Topics discussed include the physical examination conducted on the woman which showed right eye conjunctival injection and corneal edema, the oblique flashlight test which allows rapid estimate of the depth of the anterior chamber of the eye, and the administration of eye drops containing a non-selective muscarinic receptor agonist, intravenous (IV) carbonic anhydrase inhibitor and IV mannitol.
