- Abstract
The article presents a study related to the use of antibiotic prophylaxis in the surgery of head and neck. It states the variability in the use of prophylactic antibiotics and presents a review of the evidence which supports the use of antibiotic prophylaxis. It mentions a literature review which consists studies with the highest evidence. It concludes by stating that antibiotic prophylaxis is effective when used prior to the start of clean-contaminated oncologic surgery.
