- Title
Capsule Commentary on Katz et al., Implementing Smoking Cessation Guidelines for Hospitalized Veterans: Effects on Nurse Attitudes and Performance.
- Authors
Gierisch, Jennifer; Fish, Laura
- Abstract
The authors discuss a research study on nurse-led smoking cessation intervention for smokers in hospital by D. Katz and colleagues. They mention that qualitative findings highlight implementation barriers including the attitudes of nurses towards delivering cessation advice and difficulty in putting pharmacotherapy quick orders. They say that the factors might have attenuated intervention impacts and probably would not have been captured by just quantitative methods.
