- Title
Describing hearing in individuals with cerebral palsy.
- Authors
HIDECKER, MARY JO COOLEY
- Abstract
The article discusses the hearing impairment encountered in epidemiological studies which remains unresolved. It points out that the degrees of impairment are not standardized and classifications do not describe hearing difficulty at a participation level. It indicates the difficulty of accurately summarizing pure-tone results and the need to consider that hearing may fluctuate over a lifespan. It suggests cerebral palsy researchers to provide rationales for consensus definitions.
