- Abstract
The article describes the National Counsel Model in dispute resolution where a negotiation counsel facilitates the early settlement of claims through an empathetic, problem-solving approach characterized by investigation, personal expression of grief, apology and payment of a fund for the immediate needs of the claimant family. Said model is used in the U.S. trucking industry by top firms like Covenant Transport, Schneider National Carriers and J. B. Hunt Transport Services. The structure and operation of the U.S. trucking industry are also presented.
