The article focuses on the importance of the role of registered nurses (RNs) in aged care in Australia. Topics covered include comments from Professor Deborah Parker, chairman of Austalian College of Nursing's Ageing Policy Chapter, on workforce skill mix; the quality of training received by the unregulated worker; and the factors leading to the drop in the proportion of RNs.
