- Abstract
The article analyzes nationwide student progress and trends in academic achievement in the U.S. from 1971 to 2017. The study examined math and reading scores taking into account differences by student race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status and assumptions about educational inequality. Research results reveal the Flynn Effect, exception from the Program for International Student Assessment (PISA), and role of health and nutrition in students' reading and math achievement and reasoning ability.
