- Abstract
The article focuses on the organization of the project called "One Book, One Community" (OBOC) clubs that was initiated by Washington Center for the Book and Seattle Public Library in 1998. Since its conception, the program has reached several states in the country including District of Columbia and North Carolina which aims to educate people, to promote the habit of reading and to build a community of readers. The OBOC activities are supported by various establishments such as Barnes and Noble Inc., Cape Fear Community College and New Hanover County Public Library. The OBOC chapter at the New Hanover County has chosen the book "Blood Done Sign My Name," by Timothy Tyson for its 2006 book selection.
