- Abstract
In this study, the migrations that took place in the last periods of the Ottoman Empire and from the proclamation of the Republic of Turkey until today were discussed, and the reasons and types of mass migrations were tried to be explained. Migration; It can be defined as the work of individuals or communities moving from one country to another for economic, social and political reasons. There are some positive and negative effects on immigrants and immigrants.. Anatolian lands are constantly receiving immigration from a geopolitical point of view. With the weakening of the Ottoman Empire, the attack of other states on the territory of the Ottoman Empire led to the migration of people who had made those lands as their homeland for hundreds of years to Anatolia. Especially due to the internal turmoil in Syria that occurred at the beginning of the 2010s, millions of people started to migrate out of the country. A large part of this migration has been towards Turkey because it is a border country. This situation had a negative impact on Turkey's socioeconomic structure. As a result, it is estimated that at least 8,000,000 Turkish-Muslim minorities have migrated to Anatolia since 1783.
