- Abstract
The article presents an editorial discussing the investigation of a community's buying activities based on its size. The author believes that the size of community has become accepted as a basic analytical unit. Problem exist in the assessment of certain cities and towns. The city of Bakersfield, California is discussed, as it has grown almost 75 percent in 10 years, but not within the city limits. The author recommends using "urbanized areas" instead of cities or towns for market analysis.
