- Authors
KAHAN, BENJAMIN
- Abstract
The article explores the ways that Filipino author Jose Garcia Villa's poetry and fiction represent both his American and Filipino cultures. Topics discussed include the career history of Villa, the ways in which the writing technique called reversed consonance can be used to better understand the transpacific queer aesthetic element of Villa's poem "Dame Edith Sitwell Reading" and a comparison between Villa and fellow poet Edith Sitwell's treatment of queerness in their writings.
