- Title
JETHRO THE CONVERT.
- Authors
REISS, MOSHE
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the conversion of Jethro, a Biblical character, to Judaism. The author mentions the threefold basis suggesting that Jethro is a convert, referring to the fact that he made sacrifices for God, he blessed the Lord, and he took part in a festive meal with Aaron before God. He suggests that although some of the rabbis had negative views on conversion, many of them regarded Jethro and Ruth the Moabite as conversion's acceptable symbols.
