- Authors
Elewa, Ahmed; Silvers, Laury
- Abstract
The article discusses the legal arguments on woman-led prayer in Islam. It reveals that the form of the Islam prayer has reinforced the social inequality of women and their corresponding lack of religious authority in which only men can have the right to lead the prayer. It also examines the role of female modesty and the legality of unrestricted female prayer leadership.
