- Abstract
The article proposes reforms to the 1033 program of the U.S. Department of Defense to address police militarization. Topics discussed include the role of the program in the transfer of military hardware to law enforcement agencies, role of the militarization of local police in damaged trust and police-public conflict, and the need to amend the language of the National Defense Authorization Act to reduce fraud, waste and abuse in the program.
