- Abstract
Surgery is life saving for patients with critical tracheal stenosis, but how to ensure effective gas exchange is critical to the anaesthetic management. Tracheal stenosis is a known complication of tracheostomy. We here report a case of post tracheostomy critical tracheal stenosis who was successfully anaesthetized and operated upon without compromising oxygenation throughout the surgical procedure. This case emphasizes the need of proper planning and coordination on part of surgical and anaesthetic team.
