- Title
A Hermaphrodite? Lope de Vega and the Controversy of Tragicomedy.
- Authors
Kluge, S0fie
- Abstract
A literary criticism of "A Hermaphrodite? Lope de Vega and the Controversy of Tragicomedy," by Sofie Kluge is presented. It exhibits that the modern-day play was neither tragedies nor comedies in the Aristotelian sense and a mixture of both dramatic style. The union of the post-Aristolenean development of tragicomedy into the traditional system of literary genres presented a problem to contemporary evaluators and theorists.
